Process
My process begins with bold, block-colour underpaintings that establish depth and energy. From there, I build the forms gradually with opaque layers, refining tone and structure while allowing traces of the first marks to remain visible. Translucent glazes are added last to unify colour and light, softening edges and creating a quiet luminosity.
This layered approach keeps a sense of immediacy alive within the finished surface — balancing precision with the looseness of the painting’s beginnings.
I video my painting sessions, sharing a sped-up version of the process so that you can see the work from underpainting to the finished piece. You can view these more regularly through my Instagram.
